Design Talks – Day two

On the second day of Talks the audience had the opportunity to hear the opinions of Mr. Gorazd Malacic, a designer from Slovenia and one of the participants of the Golden Key jury, as well as the opinions of Ms. Marija Kojic, a young designer from Belgrade, Mr. Marko Nedeljkovic from Rast Company and Professor Vladimir Mitic from Sustainable Space.

This year, Marija presented the project “Corner for Emotions” which she realized in cooperation with the Djokovic Foundation, whilst Marko from RAST Company talked about how it feels to exhibit at Belgrade Fair after more than ten years of being present on the German market. Mr. Gorazd Malacic talked about his own experience of developing the Tokyo brand. Professor Mitic discussed working with high school students and how important it is to get them acquainted with manufacturing – to allow them to work in workshops, with a specific product.

There was also talk of the importance of exhibiting at trade shows and the persistent and great effort that needs to be put into building a brand or product. All speakers agreed that it was important to perform. In the end, a designer from Slovenia, Mr. Gorazd Malacic concluded: “Design is not a sprint, design is a marathon”.
